The Headache

April 16, 2009, 7:37 am

 Thursday, April 16th

Well, to be honest- headaches have plaughed me for years. They pound like thunder- and tingle like the taste of ice cream on a hot day. They persist- and although Asprin is a great remedy- it is hopeless, knowing that it will eventually come back. But I don't let it perturb me- I am strong, seeing as my Military dad made me that way. "Take the pain!" he would say. LOL. But I love my dad though- my best friend. So, I enjoy his advice. I usually close my eyes for 5 minutes or do some deep breathing yoga to calm it down- and it works magically. My little sister doesn't like to take my advice about yoga when she's having trouble sleeping at night.

I say:"Do the corpse pose in yoga- and only concentrate on your slow deep breaths- and eventually you will fall asleep." But she refuses to listen- lol, silly girl. Oh, and for those of you who snore- including me, unfortunately. Hey! I see you laughing, lol!- yoga opens up the lungs to relax your sinuses enough to not disturb the other person in the room.

I HOPE SOMEONE TAKES MY ADVICE! LOL. Ya'll have great day!

Charles A. Ray says:

Your dad was a wise man...

He gave you some good advice. You can fight the things in life that bother you, or you can learn to go around them or ignore them. If you can affect them there is no need worrying, if you can't there is no value in worrying. I have been a practitioner of Qi Gong since 1983 when I lived in China. I imagine now that my instructors are all part of Falung Gong and not in good with the government. Back then, it was just a good way to get your mind and spirit centered and relax your body. When I start a new writing project, I do a little Qi Gong meditation and it helps get my mind in my special writing place.
