Interview with Peter F. Hamilton, review and story sale
I've been away from the Red Room for many moons. I mostly hang out at Face Book and blog at http://sciencefictionmusings.blogspot.com Science Fiction and Other ODDysseys. I've also become a member of a group blog for Redwood Writers and agreed to do book reviews for yet another online site (SFReader). I'm on so many social networking sites that I'm going to have to have a folder of bookmarks for all of them. I've lost track of how many I'm on.
"The Visitor" has found a second life over at http://genspace.com/ctta Chaos Theory: Tales Askew. This online mag only goes up once a year, so I'll have an example of my stories for folks to read for a while.
"For Chance to Dream" is in the July 09 issue of Beyond Centauri. (Sorry, that's a print magazine. You'll have to buy it.) It's a sf mag for kids 9 to 90. You can purchase your copy http://www.samsdotpublishing.com/purchasecenter/magazines.htm after the first of July.
I've just sent out 8 stories in 8 days thanks to a mailing party over at http://www.broaduniverse.org Broad Universe. Feels good to get all those stories out of my hair.
My review of The Temporal Void is available at http://bookreview.mostlyfiction.com/2009/temporal-void-by-peter-hamilton... Mostly Fiction.
You can read my interview with the author, Peter F. Hamilton http://sciencefictionmusings.blogspot.com/2009/06/peter-hamilton-man-beh... at Science Fiction and Other ODDysseys. Feel free to browse for more author interviews, thoughts on writing, writers' resources and my publication news. And, of course, there will be plenty of science fiction discussed there as well.
Regarding my book, Awesome Lavratt, I made a critical decision. I'm going to start writing stories in that universe rather than finishing the sequel right now. However, I do have another novel that only needs a rewrite that I want to get done before World Fantasy Convention in October. It's in San Jose this year.
Speaking of conventions, I'll be a guest at SpoCon in Spokane, WA again this year. That's at the end of July. I'm a featured author at The Comic Book Box in Rohnert Park on June 27 as part of a Creature Feature event. July 2nd I'll be speaking at a library in San Ramon, CA on generating "what ifs". October will find me at SiliCon in San Jose, World Fantasy Convention in San Jose and I'll be presenting a talk on developing web presence at the Redwood Writers Convention http://www.redwoodwriters.org/conference.html in Santa Rosa, CA.
I keep a running list of appearance dates on my website's bio page: http://wilkes.zftp.com/AnnWilkes.html.
