Poet Russel Edson: Who else would "not" classify his work as poetry? To me it's prose!

 Like we allow no winners or losers in childhood competitions anymore, we let anything written qualify as poetry if the writer deems it is.  How about calling it "poetic prose"? Such writing is to most poetry as  atonal music is to most other music.

A man ambushed a stone. Caught it. Made it a prisoner.
Put it in a dark room and stood guard over it for the
rest of his life.
