Anne Lamott    Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith
by Anne Lamott

OK, so I loved Anne Lamott before I read this book, but now I love her more. Her lecture agent once told me that Anne had a problem when people who read her books thought they were friends, because, of course, she doesn't know them. Well, if I ever saw her in person, I'd want to hug her, too. She writes with such clarity, such fearless honesty, such humanness. She shares and validates my faith in a God who understands brokenness and the grace of striving to heal, to be better than you are. Reading "Plan B" is a healing journey -- I laughed out loud and cried. I will read it over and over, as I do two of her other books, Bird by Bird and Traveling Mercies.  These are great guides for your emotional and spiritual journeys, and wonderful to read when you're feeling blue.  -- Dr. Romance

Anyone who knows me knows I heart Anne Lamott...

and I loved her columns before the election on Salon.  Especially the line regarding Sarah Palin: "I like to shoot wolves as much as the next girl." Then there was a bunch of Salon readers who thought she really did kill wolves. Which means some people don't get sarcasm. Or humor. Or good writing.
