Red Room success
Hello Friends and Visitors,
I haven't been joining you with comments as often as I wish, but the reason is a good one.
About three months ago I received an email from an editor asking if I would be interested in sharing some of my writings on the site CreteGazette.com. Mr. Yiannis Stamatis is the editor of several Websites concerning introducing English speaker to Greek culture, music and travel. I answered, "Yes." of course! I volunteered a few articles about life in Crete, an art exhibit review and an article on new environmental research all of which I have shared with you on RedRoom. (Thank you , again for your comments and support, by the way!)
I wrote to Mr. Statmatis that I would share articles and essays I write about life in Crete with him before I post them on my Red Room blog. If he likes them, he can keep them to publish. If he doesn't like them, that's OK, too, because these are the stories I want to share on Red Room. I've been surprised to find every time I send him an article . . . he likes what I've written! So I don't post as often on Red Room as I like but I'm working on a new schedule of writing different pieces so I have more to share and more time to share comments on other blogs.
Mr. Stamatis is a kind and generous fellow. Fortunately, although we have never met we have a great relationship and he has gently guided me to understand how to write pieces appropriate for Crete Gazette. Now I have even better news.
I have quite a bit of experience with photography, computers and writing. So Mr. Stamatis is training me to write articles for another of his websites, CreteExplore.com. For these pieces I will be paid! I'll be a professional travel writer when he's finished with me!
I will be able to explore Chania and send him travel articles and photographs. I'm very excited about this new opportunity!
Because I found Red Room and started blogging here, Mr. Stamatis found me. Without Red Room I don't know how our meeting could have happened.
Thank you, Red Room! Thank you, Ivory!
