Just Go! To the BP Travel Writers Conference »
Many thanks to the great people at the Book Passage Travel Writers and Photographers Conference!
1. Yesterday, when no one was watching, Mom ate part of a letter my sister wrote to her. Alzheimer’s is sad—but also funny. So: ha ha.
On my visit to Acres of Books... »
I visited an old friend this weekend, probably for the last time.

1. Arts & Entertainment-Related Recommendations, Comments and Caveats du Jour:
The BIG international news of the day is that Kafka looked at porn. This eclipses the news about possible new manuscripts and illustrations from his own hand.
The Route of the Conquistadors—Buddy Levy’s first blog »
In writing narrative adventure history, one of elements of research that is important to me is what I call "immersion research" (for lack of a formal nomenclature to describe it).
I haven't been as diligent about blogging here as I should. However, I've been blogging just about everywhere else (not that I don't love my RedRoom space...I've simply spread myself a little thi

It's a Scavenger Hunt! Win a gift basket of four of my parenting/teen books, or just play for fun. Tantalize your brain and learn more about me than you ever wanted to know!
Midlist Writer: My Virtual Book Tour »
Today I am blogging over at Midlist Writer.
In yesterday's WaPost, Jonathan Karp postulates that we are living in the age of the disposable book, and sees a future in which only truly novel novels will flourish.
Just heard from my agent: a publisher she recently sent my latest children's picture book to, has just turned it down. Crap!
PODCASTING, PROMOS, POTIONS & PET PROJECTS »
