Mission: CCF, Christian Children's Fund, creates an environment of hope and respect for children in need in which they have opportunities to achieve their full potential, and provides children, families, and communities with practical tools for positive change.
Founder: Dr. J. Calvitt Clarke
Year founded: 1938
Accomplishments:
- Established operations in thirty-one countries
- In fiscal year 2007, used eighty-two percent of revenue for services and programs benefitting children
Profile: CCF was conceived originally to render aid to Chinese orphans during the Sino-Japanese War. The organization provides services to children, most funded by individual contributors, in the form of monthly child sponsorships. It receives grants and donations that support vocational training, literacy training, food distribution, educational programs, early childhood development, health and immunization programs, nutritional programs, water and sanitation development, and emergency relief in both man-made and natural disasters.
CCF encourages sponsors to correspond with children in the sponsored community. Its CCF Gifts of Love Catalog gives donors the opportunity to provide specific items to children and families in specific parts of the world. Donors choose the gift and amount they like to give, and have the option of making their donations in the name of friends and family members.
