Poets on stage

::

Co-producers Ana Elsner and Stephen Kopel are delighted to have been given the opportunity to showcase the voices of a diverse group of poets at the Randall.
Elsner and Kopel are dedicated to bringing the vibrancy of contemporary poetry to as large an audience as possible and instill in our viewers and listeners a curiosity about the work of the featured poets as well as about poetry in general.

Thank you for attending our three part Poetry Series and special thanks to the museum events coordinator for inviting us into their heart and home at the beautiful Randall Museum Theater.

Thanks also to The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department for sponsoring this Elsner / Kopel production. SF Recreation and Parks Department

The Randall Museum opened in its current location in 1951 with exhibits, a theater, classrooms, arts and crafts shops and studios. It is situated in the 16-acre Corona Heights Park on a large hill between the Castro and Haight districts of San Francisco, and boasts stunning views of the city, the downtown skyline and the San Francisco Bay.
It was named in honor of its founder, Josephine D. Randall. It is owned and operated by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, with support from 'Randall Museum Friends', a non-profit organization, and with the help of many dedicated volunteers.

Something that needs to be said

"In an age when city coffers are depleted and public and community venues and facilities such as the San Francisco Public Libraries, SFPL, the San Francisco Free Civic Theater, SFFCT, director Glenn Havlan, several neighborhood rec centers and many other free city-run programs are being threatened with cut-backs, it is especially important to come out in support of local literary and community events before they vanish forever.

The Randall Theater Poetry Series is one such program. Attending one, two or all three of the poetry shows will not only inform and entertain you, but will also send a message to the appropriate city agencies that events such as these are in demand, are vital to the local community and deserve continued funding.

Yes, we are soliciting your engagement and presence at these three shows, not just for the benefit of the featured poets and musicians who are giving so generously of their time and talent without monetary compensation, but also to help us make an important point.

So go ahead, jump on our (poetry) bandwagon. There's room for all of us!

Thank you."
