Of note:
The term 'café society' was coined in the late 1800s as a collective description for intellectuals and literati who gathered in the cafés of Europe to debate ideas on literature, fine arts and philosophy. This practice survived and expanded socio-geographically.
The topics under discussion now include a broader spectrum of common interests and contemporary concerns.
