The Reeds' Trip to New York City January 28-February 4, 2009
From January 28-February 4, 2009 the Reeds traveled to New York City. Tennessee and Ishmael went together to visit the American Museum of Natural History and Tennessee accompanied Ishmael to the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture where he read his poetry with Lucille Clifton. Tennessee, Carla and Ishmael went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with two friends. Carla and Tennessee went to the Whitney Museum of American Art to see artist Meredith Monk perform and they also traveled to the Guggenheim Museum. Carla and Tennessee took a day trip to Nanuet to see relatives. Carla, Tennessee and Ishmael went to the Hayden Planetarium with a friend and got to witness a snow storm. Carla got to plan a dance tribute to her friend Suzushi Hanayagi with Robert Wilson and also she held auditions with playwright Wajahat Ali for the New York premiere of "Domestic Crusaders."
