From September 19-October 6, 2008 the Reeds traveled to the Northeast. Ishmael Reed traveled to New York City, New Haven, Buffalo and Syracuse. Tennessee Reed visited New York City, New Haven, Buffalo and Boston. Carla Reed visited New York City, New Haven, Nanuet, Buffalo and Boston. Ishmael Reed spoke at New York University, Yale University, the New School and Syracuse University. Tennessee Reed spoke at East Boston High School and Lesley University. Carla and Tennessee got to visit the American Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tennessee went with a friend downtown and got to see Ground Zero for the first time.
