About Me
Writer and cartoonist, though only in the small press world to date. Developing projects currently in both arenas while waging an endless battle against that age-old writer's foe, procrastination.
As a fan, enjoy fiction and non- in a variety of subjects. Most drawn to strong character voice, humor and triumph of human will/cleverness (as opposed to invulnerable überbeings).
Relationship Status
- Single currently. Been through the roller coaster of multiple relationships (the line before the ride is always a pain).
Family
Casting a net at the moment.
Interests & Hobbies
- Bunch of stuff: drawing; reading; developing story ideas and pitches; playing with the dog; poking at my web site; working out (though not too hard); drinks with friends; movies and TV (that don't suck); playing street hockey; good conversations; hiking; sleeping in when possible.
Favorite Books
- Winter's Tale; A Soldier of the Great War; When Gravity Fails; L.A. Confidential (most of Ellroy's stuff, really); Water for Elephants. Also, graphic novels (y'know; comics): Planetary; 100 Bullets; Hellblazer (some arcs, not all); Impulse (the first half); Flash (mid-run); Spider-Man (love the character, not thrilled with the book for a long time); Scott Pilgrim.
Favorite Authors
- An incomplete list: Neal Stephenson (particularly the Baroque Cycle, Cryptonomicon, and Snow Crash); James Ellroy; Stephen King (when he doesn't indulge in author bloat); Glen Cook; Stephen Brust; Mark Helprin; Stephen Hunter; Warren Ellis; Garth Ennis; Grant Morrison.
