About Me

  • I have served as assistant director of communications for Americans United for Separation of Church and State (Washington, D.C.) since 1987. I have authored three books: Why the Religious Right Is Wrong About Separation of Church & State, The Most Dangerous Man in America?: Pat Robertson and the Rise of the Christian Coalition and Close Encounters with the Religious Right. In addition, I write regularly for Americans United's magazine Church & State and contribute to AU's blog. I write about other topics that interest me as well. These include, among other things, ancient Roman coins, bigfoot, Humanism, liberal politics and 1980s progressive music.

Marriage

  • Married Carol Laseski on June 20, 1992.
