  I am a poet and there is a rising trend toward self-publishing in poetry (probably because so very little money to be made at it).

  I was blessed with a last minute permission to attend and it was one of the best weeks I have had. The generosity of the writers and the quality of the work was a gift.

  and since many meatloaf recipes use more than one sort of meat would it be meatsloaf? meatsloafs? meatsloaves? A conundrum! Also very entertaining.

  "the futility of iambics"--great phrase. I will make a challenge of it.

  Several of this year's strains are resistant but it seems to be working against the new, scarey, mutant swine flu just now emerging in Mexico and now working its way north.

  I think one of the perks of starting to write again after a long absence is the community I have found among other writers.
