Alex Halpern was born and raised in Marin County, California. After a five-year stint on the East Coast, he is back in Marin, writing among the Redwoods. A graduate of Drew University, Alex is planning on pursuing his Master's in Fine Arts in the fall of 2009. He is the author of one book and numerous short stories and essays and his second book, The Last Diaspora, is in progress. Alex is an avid hiker as well as a former swimmer and water polo player.
