About Me

  • A writer of contemporary women's fiction, aiming for the post chicklit gap in the market.   Women of 40+ still have a lot of fun and some very interesting stories to tell and I'd like to be the one to tell them.   I'm currently over 3/4 through the first draft of The Accidental Guru where we meet four long time friends.

You can keep up to date on its progress and meet the characters on my blog below and I'd love to receive comments on the work I'm posting here.

    • I'm finally finished with my first draft of The Accidental Guru and am hurtling into the second whilst all my mental notes on the revision are fresh in my mind. It's been so long since I started it, I've forgotten a great deal of the scenes I'd written so I've gone back to it as a reader rather than as a ...
  • Any Brits out there?

    May 22, 2009

    • Just a quick appeal to see if there are any UK authors out there, particularly the London area.   It would be good to network/swap ideas.   Would it be worth starting a club for the Brit Pack?

  • Hi to everyone

    May 19, 2009

    • I've joined Red Room in the hope of hooking up with other authors, particularly those writing contemporary women's fiction.   If there's anyone out there writing for the 40+ market, I'd be doubly glad to connect with you.So far I'm 3/4 of my way through The Accidental Guru which tells the story of four friends, Aurora, Judi, Paula and Mel, and the six months that change their lives.  The ...

Comments I've Written

  • Bubbly

I don't know about cracking open the bubbly but a glass of warm lemonade might be in order!

  • How true

The novel I'm working on is about just such a group of friends who've known one another since their babies were small.
  • Thanks

I was formerly registered with Authonomy but, somehow, Red Room feels more writer-ly and about the end product.

Fingers crossed.   See you on the bookshelves.

  • Well said

I really enjoy connecting with friends on Facebook and seeing their holiday photos but I detest all the quizzes and invitations that go along with them.
