About Me

  • Many have asked me what prompted a bored hotel executive to write a chick lit. The story of how One Real McCoy came about is quite simple. It was a dare. I'm easily bored, and whilst waiting for my next assignment I read a lot. Mainly mysteries, detective stories, suspence novels, but also the occasional romantic comedy. A good friend recommended a book by a New York Times best-seller. In fact, she was positively raving about it. Eagerly I read it.

  • Never again

    June 9, 2009

    • “Imagine for a moment that you’re five years old. You know that your country is at war because you haven’t seen a man over the age of sixteen and under the age of sixty for months. Including your own father. Imagine that words such as ‘genocide’, ‘invasion’ and ‘evacuation’ become part of your daily vocabulary  when you’re too young to spell ‘Hello’. Imagine if nobody ...
  • Any day now...

    June 1, 2009

    • Any day now…Waiting for a much anticipated book’s release is tough enough. When it’s your own, the wait is excruciating. Any day  now my second novel - a historic tale based on actual events during a lesser-known part of WWII - will be released. That word gives me the chills. Released. Like releasing the hounds. Or releasing one’s claim. Or releasing from imprisonment. All of which, in ...

    • The sequel is finished. It took a slightly different turn than originally anticipated, but hopefully it'll be received as well as 'One Real McCoy' was. The usual suspects are still present, and ... that's all I intend to say about it! ;-)With luck it should be in print late this summer.Happy reading!

Comments I've Written

  • More

The rest of the story! I, too, use 'inner monologue' in my writing and have received mixed reviews. Therefore I'd love to learn from fellow writers about their technique.
  • MIXED EXAMPLE

Am intrigued. Where can I find more?
  • Stay the course!

Paul, I thought that idea was wonderful. Not original, which makes it all the more believable. Stick with it.
  • Cover

Thanks, Dennis! When designing the cover to a 'chick lit' there seems only to be one rule: COLOR! :-) I don't know who desiged it. Someone at the publishers, I guess...
  • Any bilingual writers out there?

Can relate. To the schizo-part. Simultaneously writing two widely different manuscripts. One chick lit, one biography. Different genres, different target audiences, different narratives.
