About Me

  • Having spent my entire career in the advertising field working in media communication and setting up companies from scratch for multinationals around the world I decided to relax and have some me time. Despite having lived in a number of exciting countries with very diverse cultures I suddenly find myself writing (a shock in itself) a dark comedy drama or drama comedy, can't decide which, based in my native Scotland. As a literary agent, something else that happened by chance, I promote a few top-notch Argentine writers in Spain and other European countries.

  • Pixels in my eyes

    October 26, 2009

    • The Madrid Book Fair is but a warm memory and Frankfurt was freezing but I still have pixels dancing in my eyes. They live in different worlds but complement the traditional by satisfying both the new and the old way of ...
  • The hypnotised commuter

    October 8, 2009

    • It’s scary. Habit is a scary thing. It’s the defence mechanism that got me through years of travelling, crushed, personal space seriously abused, on the London ...
  • Running away from the fair

    October 7, 2009

    • I want to run away from the book fair. Lots of people in suits doing business, traditional business. I want to run away as fast as I can. Not a good reaction for a (sort of) literary agent. I think I’m supposed to embrace all this stuff but it’s been a long time since I did traditional business. It’s been nice getting dressed up and men can look good in a suit (not as good as in a kilt but ...
  • Bad manners at check-in

    August 27, 2009

    • Bad manners create stress, stress makes you sick. It makes me want to throw up over the rude idiot who always tries to wiggle their way forward in the queue for check-in at the airport. Any airport in the world. The whole concept of personal space does not exist in the competition it takes to get to check-in where the lines are clearly marked and, technically speaking, there is no confusion ...
