- Mary Elizabeth Uhland grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has travelled extensively. After stints in the military as well as film and television, she attended various universities, eventually earning a BA, Highest Honors, in English Discourse Studies from Eastern Oregon University, and a Master of Art in Teaching from The University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. A gratefully indebted, terminal student, the Dept of Ed eventually suggested it was time for her to get a job.
