About Me

  • I was born in a beautiful colonial town in the mountains of Southern Mexico and raised there and in California's Bay Area.  I interrupted my college studies by becoming a racing driver in Europe for a couple of years and returned to the U.S. to pursue both of those interests plus a few others, such as flying.  A meeting with Paul Newman on the race tracks redirected my writing interests into screenplays.  I've directed two independent feature films based on my own scripts and we shot them in the San Francisco area.

    • It was still morning, a fact hidden by the overcast skies, and my mood was overcast as well. I'd just emerged from the auto parts store without finding what I sought, though I can't recall now what that might have been.  My mind was still mulling over the fact that a few hours earlier, on a previous visit to that store, I returned to my car parked in the rear lot to find that someone had spray ...

The power of creativity. I’ve been thinking a lot about creativity lately, and in my own humble way have concluded that there are two basic sides to it.
  • Right brain thinking

Wow! Mr. Khanna: Coming from someone so immersed in philosophical thought, the backbone of human development, your comments are especially appreciated.

  • The fountain of creativity

People who advise developing writers most often say "Write about the things you know." I'm sure we've all heard that. For a long time I fought against such advise.
