  • 7,563 words

    November 4, 2009

    • Everything is on track with my nanowrimo project this year. I feel quite happy - that contented glow of sticking to your writing guns each and every day makes this November seem warmer than it actually is. I do a little more than I should (they recommend only 1,677 words a day to make the 50,000-word target). It takes me a little under an hour. Then I leave the work and carry on editing Tales ...
  • 3852 on day 2

    November 2, 2009

    • Comma Coma Boy is at the chapter 2 mark. My plan to write a chapter a day is working (hah! early days always work... we'll see if I can keep it up for 30 days straight!)I'm on target and enjoying feeling out the characters and the world I'm creating. A future world with limited gas reserves. A survival of the fittest philosophy that trickles into the schools. Bullies are encouraged. The weeding ...
  • "Tales Tell Tales" and "Comma Coma Boy"

    November 1, 2009

    • I've edited Tales Tell Tales, up to and including Chapter 24 today. Only 10 short chapters to go.I started Nanowrimo tonight. I wrote 2,293 words, Chapter 1: The School Trip. I plan to write a chapter a day, which means 30 chapters in 30 days. Comma Coma Boy is a young adult book about a boy who falls into a coma at night and unleashes the sleeping superhero within him. Clark thinks he's dreaming ...
  • Editing takes time

    October 27, 2009

    • I'm halfway through editing my novel, "Tales Tell Tales" and I'm having so much fun with it. Sorry for being so scarce on Red Room, everyone. But I'm trying to get my book into good enough shape to get an agent and a publisher... :-) I'm also planning to do Nanowrimo this November - but I'll pop in now and then to let everyone know how things are going.1. Tales Tell Tales: 37,000 words ...
  • People of Ash

    October 8, 2009

    • Ella gets burned. To a cinder. Again. Why? Well, there are two suns shining in the sky today. Every few centuries the planet Ella somehow gets wedged between these two suns and the combination is a deadly one. Then Ella is toast. Life is tough and after generations of the Phoenix Cycle, people develop tough skins. These hairless denizens populate Ella for thousands of years until the planet is ...

Comments I've Written

  • The prologue is a prelude

I wrote a prologue once, it was a prelude of things to come, it was me introducing things to you, it was, in short, quite short, and so I rewrote the prologue once more, it had been a prelude of thing
  • Wow

I can tell the experience made a great impression on you.
  • admirable

2000 words a day is a good goal. I just aim for a little more than I should, that way I feel great for every word over 1677! It takes me an hour to do...

  • Anytime, anywhere!

I write best whenever the fancy strikes me. I also write better and better the longer I sit and write.
