An eclectic mess of fiction and nonfiction: Giorgio de Santillana and Hertha von Dechend's "Hamlet's Mill," M. John Harrison's "The Pastel City," John Michell's "The View Over Atlantis" (a grand visionary prose poem too often read as fact), Edgar Pangborn's "Davy," Theodore Roszak's "Where the Wasteland Ends," J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings," and Arnold Toynbee's "A Study of History," among too many others.

What I'm Reading

Lewis Spence's "The Magic Arts in Celtic Britain," David Hiley's "Western Plainchant: A Handbook," and a collection of old instructional papers from one of the old Druid orders that folded into the Ancient Order of Druids in America.

Even those who aren’t specifically interested in druidry may want to take a good look at this book. The meditation section, for example, has a series of practices that are useful and effective regardless of one’s personal spiritual paradigm. The seasonal rituals, too, may be adapted for use outside of druidry, being well-structured and lyrical in their own right.
