An eclectic mess of fiction and nonfiction: Giorgio de Santillana and Hertha von Dechend's "Hamlet's Mill," M. John Harrison's "The Pastel City," John Michell's "The View Over Atlantis" (a grand visionary prose poem too often read as fact), Edgar Pangborn's "Davy," Theodore Roszak's "Where the Wasteland Ends," J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings," and Arnold Toynbee's "A Study of History," among too many others.

What I'm Reading

Lewis Spence's "The Magic Arts in Celtic Britain," David Hiley's "Western Plainchant: A Handbook," and a collection of old instructional papers from one of the old Druid orders that folded into the Ancient Order of Druids in America.

Review Excerpt:

This is a quick read, and yet a very rich tale, too. The twist at the end is a nice touch, though I wasn’t too surprised by the resolution that occurred after. Still, I’d definitely recommend this to any sci-fi reader, any of Greer’s fans wanting something creatively different from him, and those who may have been disappointed by the overly idealistic utopian views of Starhawk’s The Fifth Sacred Thing but liked the general concept of a back-to-nature future. Five pawprints out of five.
