As I read these gorgeously written poems, I am observing these tough wildernesses or I am in ritual with the text, or I am reformulating what it means to be reader witness, because these poems make me sit up straighter and seek. These wild places I find in her work, they are not uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable regions, but familiar, stark and unapologetically human, and so alive. I love this book.
