This is a collection of my poetry written between ages thirteen and nineteen.

Some people say
we have earth,
fire, air and water
in our bodies:
a complete chart of elements.
If an element is one of the parts
that make up a whole
a substance that cannot easily be broken
there is an element of truth to the saying
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust”
and a reason to discover
the gold and silver
mines that are within.
