Book Excerpt:

I spent a long time in Donato’s bathroom, feeling dumb for what I said, and looking at the pile of clothes in the corner behind the door. I loved the smell of his clothes after he wore them. I’d miss that the most. It hurt like he had already gone. I sat on the pile, holding a bottle of Listerine. I just needed to feel my throat burn.
