The Effect of Stress on Dreams (with I. Hunter and R. W. Lane)

The Effect of Stress on Dreams (with I. Hunter and R. W. Lane) by

Synopsis:

This monograph reports two studies in which the laboratory methods of monitoring REM sleep were used to collect dreams from subjects in stressful situations. The first was a study of individuals undergoing major surgery, and the second of subjects in stressful group therapy. The results confirmed the work of French and Fromm that dreams facilitate adaptation to emotionally arousing events from the pre-sleep periods.
