I feature this interview here because it was my first published piece,ever. Geraldine Ferraro granted me this interview as a favor to a young person who was just starting out. She had just come out of the hospital, had family problems of her own to deal with, yet took the time to sit for a lengthy interview, which would be read by a readership of less than 30,000. She did it because she was a person of her word. I admired her courage then, as she struggled to overcome the many unfair disparagements against her character when she ran for vice-president, the first female to do so. And, I admired her courage several years ago, when she struggled to overcome cancer. I had the chance to speak to her again at the 2007 California Women's Convention. She is just as dynamic and passionate now, in her seventies, as she was when I did this interview.....
